How it Works (Overview)

Step 0 - Configuration
Remote Action is one of the pre-defined Workflow Action types that you can select when building up a Workflow Template using Orchid Extender. The emails and webforms associated with the action are highly configurable.
Step 1 - Webform & Email
When a workflow instance is active and the Remote Action step is reached, an email is sent to the nominated approver(s). The email includes a unique link to a singe-use online form, hosted on the cloud-based Remote Action Service platform.
Step 2 - Taking action
The recipient reads the email and clicks on the link. They fill out the single-use web form to remotely complete the action. (E.g. they enter a comment and/or value and click an Approve or Reject button.
Step 3 - Action retrieval
Extender goes to the Remote Action Service platform and retrieves details of completed actions. The results are fed back into Sage 300cloud to progress the workflow. (Synchronization can be enhanced by using Orchid Process Scheduler to regularly poll for newly completed forms.)
